If it's a night you're after where there is excellent food, drinks flowing for the duration and some first rate entertainment, then get yourself to the large venue known as "Showtime".

Found in the Costa Adeje area, from the outside, it looks a bit uninspiring, something like a delapidated hut, but, once inside, you'll see it's set up for revelry and music!

For those of you lucky (or foolhardy) enough to have been to Munich's Oktoberfest beer festival, you'll think the layout looks familiar.

On your arrival, you get the chance to meet the cast and then you go through to the main room.

Everyone sits at long tables, where, from the moment you sit down, the drink flows. It's included in the price and the waiters make sure your glass is never empty!

Wine is available, as is beer, which comes in a German stein - far more than a pint.

At around 8pm, you receive your meal. During this, you're entertained by the "warm up act", Nathan Jones. He specialises in "Rat Pack" material - Sinatra, etc, and is the perfect accompaniment while you dine.

At around 9pm, the show proper begins.

The Show

It is billed as "The Sound of Musicals" and lives up to this name. Featuring excerpts from no less than 15 different musicals, you'll witness spectacular dance routines, coupled with superb vocals.

You'll hear famous songs from the likes of 42nd Street, Phantom of the Opera, Moulin Rouge, Chicago and Dirty Dancing.

The cast of seven (five girls and two guys) are all seasoned Tenerife entertainers and will wow you with their professionalism.

With a 15 minute interval break at 10pm, the show continues until 11:15, after which you may stay on until around midnight.

It is a superb extravaganza for all the family and is performed every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. However, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, young people only above the age of 15 are allowed.

To find this venue, exit the TF-1 motorway at junction 78 (signposted Costa Adeje/La Caleta/Fañabe). From whichever direction, go round the big roundabout until you spot a prominent sign on the right, saying "Reina". Underneath, you'll see the "Sound of Musicals" logo.

For those of you drivers who would prefer to avail yourselves of the unlimited alcohol without worry, most excursion companies offering this attraction include a coach pick-up from where you are staying.
