Segway Tours - ride around on a stand-up scooter!

Currently, there are two companies in Tenerife offering Segway Tours, situated almost at different ends of the island! For those of you who don't know what a "Segway" is, here's a picture of some of them in action.

The big advantage is that you're almost on foot, but you don't have the hassle of all that walking. This can be pretty useful during the summer, when the weather's really warm.

Segway Tenerife

This company offers Segway tours in the Costa Adeje area of south Tenerife. Tours are scheduled every two hours between 9:30am to 9:30pm and accept ages from 11 upwards. There is a short training session at the start of each tour, so you'll know how to operate your machine.

The headquarters of these tour operators are situated in the Commercial Centre Mango, in La Caleta. They are found underneath the restaurant El Torito.

You can choose from tours that last from one hour to two and a half hours.

Segway Experience

Here we have another company offering Segway tours - this time up in the north at Puerto de La Cruz, headquarters at 10, Avenida Melchor Luz. Operating every day, their tours are a standard duration - 1hour 30 minutes and a standard price - €45.

For this, you get a safety helmet, a bottle of water and a short training session prior to the tour. There are special rates for groups of four people or more, so this activity is ideal for families.

A qualified guide will take you round the sights of this beautiful city - Playa Jardin, the Martianez Swimming Pool Complex, the harbour, St Philip's Castle and more.
