Restaurante Primi Santa Cruz - a very stylish dining experience

This has got to be one of the most stylish restaurants in the island's capital of Santa Cruz.

Situated in a prime position, just yards from the iconic Auditorio and right beside the ocean, it offers a very chic dining experience.

The decor is quite minimalist, with very clean lines and a colour scheme that adheres strictly to white and orange.

It certainly makes for a striking environment and suggests that you're in for a culinary treat.

There are several different areas. The restaurant itself, a sushi bar and a terrace area. You can see from this that, although the cuisine is primarily Italian, there are oriental choices on the menu.

You may also sit in the plush lounge area, to enjoy a drink from the well stocked bar.

As you would expect, the dishes that are placed before you fully live up to the restaurant's initial impression. Everything is carefully presented as a work of art.

Samples from the menu include sopa Alaska - timbale of salmon in velouté sauce, salad leaves with walnuts, strawberries and goat's cheese, drizzled with honey, Primi Futomaki, which is crab, salmon, avocado and cheese with eel sauce, beef marinade stuffed with Iberian ham and mushrooms, wrapped in bacon and Shanghai salad, which includes marinated chicken and soya sprouts.

In the sushi bar, needless to say, chopsticks are available!

With all this going for it, the restaurant is further blessed with very professional, friendly and attentive staff.

Being positioned so close to the Auditorio, where there are numerous shows performed, it is an ideal place to avail yourself of a drink or a meal beforehand.

Primi - hailed by many as one of Santa Cruz's top restaurants.

You can find Primi quite easily. It's literally next to the Auditorio de Tenerife, on the opposite side of La Plaza del Castillo Negro, the open space containing the old fortification from which the square takes its name.
