Highland Paddy 3 - the Los Gigantes branch

There are two "Highland Paddy" bars in Los Gigantes (plus a third in Las Americas). The one this page is concerned with is in the Santiago del Teide area, on the one-way ring road.

It recently closed down for a while, during which it received a complete refurbishment, only opening again on Christmas eve, 2011, with a brand spanking new decor.

The sign over the door proclaims the venue as a "Lounge and Cabaret Bar", but its Facebook page describes it as an "Entertainment and Sports Venue".

I suppose both descriptions are appropriate, as the bar is an ideal place to relax with a drink, or watch sports on the big screen TVs, after which, come nightfall, the entertainment programme kicks in.

The bar manager, Nathan Kelly, is also the evening compere and he, together with partner Kelly Morgan, keep the place buzzing seven days a week.

Weekdays, the bar doesn't open till 6pm and, although it isn't exactly a restaurant, bar snacks are available.

For those of you watching the pennies, there are periodic special offers on drinks.

Weekends, the doors open at 11am and I suspect that that's when all the sport is shown, including, no doubt, UK Premier League matches.

At around 9:30, Nathan begins the evening entertainment, offering a few songs and banter until the guest cabaret, at 10:30. Every night of the week there is a different cabaret, all the cream of Tenerife acts.

Thereafter, a karaoke session carries on until the early hours.

As I said, this bar is found on the one-way ring road in Santiago del Teide. In the direction of the traffic, you'll see it on the left, just past the Supermercado Los Gigantes.
