The Exit Palace is one of a handful of venues in Tenerife that provide full-blown musical extravaganzas, with huge stage, spectacular costumes and dramatic lighting.
It is a large building, situated just off the TF-1 motorway in the San Eugenio area of Adeje.
Over the years, it has staged many different productions, but I'll be giving you details of what's on at the time of writing (April 2012). You'll be able to check if this is still currently being performed via the venue's website (link below).
The building is housed within 15,000 square metres that include ample carparking facilites, landscaped areas and a picturesque fountain as you approach the entrance.
The first place you'll encounter as you enter is a charming, spacious courtyard. You'll be warmly welcomed by professional staff and presented with a complimentary glass of Cava (the Spanish equivalent of Champagne).
Should you wish to partake of a few more drinks before the performance, this area also contains a bar.
Exit Palace boasts two large halls for the entertainment. The smaller one, accommodating around 500 people, is decked out with full "pirate" memorabilia, including a huge pirate ship on the stage.
The larger one, where your show is performed, seats around 700 people. There is an elaborate stage area, with a walkway into the audience, a bar and restrooms.
All the tables and chairs are nicely spaced, so, even at full capacity, it doesn't seem too crowded.

The Show: "Rock Story"
The evening's extravaganza is in three parts.
Abba Dream
Kicking off proceedings is this Abba tribute act, where superb singers and musicians perform all the hits from this iconic group.
The Pink Wall
If you've not worked it out already, this is a Pink Floyd tribute. Billed as the "Pulse" concert, it features acrobats, dramatic light shows, as well as all those evocative songs from the 70s. There is even a wall on stage that gets demolished!
The Queen Project
Providing the finale to the show is a tribute to Queen and, in true flamboyant style, "Freddie" appears at the back of the hall, astride a motorbike! Thereafter, it's hit after hit from Queen's extensive and popular catalogue.
In between each part, there is a 15 minute break, when you can dash to the bar. I believe that food is also available.
The whole thing lasts over three hours.

To access the Exit Palace from the TF-1 motorway is very easy, if you are travelling in the direction away from Los Cristianos. You just leave at junction 29 and you'll see it, over to the right, a large rust-coloured building.
If you're unfortunate to be travelling from the Los Gigantes direction, there's no exit for you at junction 29. You have to carry on to junction 28, exit there, take the bridge over the motorway, re-enter it travelling the other way, so you can then exit at 29.
