The El Contador campsite is a bit of an enigma.
If you go on the official Cabildo website that lists all the camping areas in Tenerife, this one is not there. Yet it does exist!
This site is situated in the municipality of Arico, nestled in the pine forests.
Within an area of 2,850 square metres, it accommodates up to 30 people.
Amenities
Unfortunately, there are no showers, toilets or disabled access.
This site has the obligatory "recreation area".
Opening Times | |
---|---|
Summer | Early-9pm |
Winter | Early-7pm |
Camping is free, provided you have the permit (which is also free).
How To Get There
The best way to find it is to get yourself on the TF-28 road. This can be accessed from the TF-1 motorway from either the Poris de Abona, or theChimiche exits.
Once on the T-28, aim for Villa de Arico. Once there, this road features a roundabout and there is a sign for the site. Follow this road round and, at the stop sign, turn right.
From then on, you're on a very long, winding road that takes you up into the pine forests, where you'll eventually arrive at the campsite.
Unfortunately, I have no contact telephone number for the site manager.
