Another quite major radio station operating on Tenerife is Atlantis FM. It bills itself as providing non-stop music 24/7, with no "chat", so you'd think that whether it is an English language station or not is irrelevant.

This is correct, up to a point. While the station's remit is to provide primarily continuous music, there are, of course, periodic news bulletins in English. These comprise both international and local items.

Operating since 2006, the station can be accessed on two different wavelengths, depending on whereabouts you are within its broadcasting range.

Output consists mainly of music from across the whole of Europe, designed to appeal to listeners from the age of 30 upwards. Though generally "pop" music, you may find a few "rock" tracks here and there.

The main focus is to provide the best songs from the 60s onward. Certain programmes feature specific decades. Every afternoon, at 3pm, there is the popular 80s show, which, as well as those tunes that lead you down memory lane, will contain interesting facts from that era.

The aforementioned news bulletins consist of international news on the hour, with full reports at midday, 3pm and 6pm. The local news is included throughout the day and involves information for tourists and any local events.
