asia chic la orotava
Situated in the suburbs of La Orotava is this unique Asian restaurant - unique in that, as well as offering excellent Chinese cuisine, it also features Japanese sushi dishes. Opened in 2005, this is a family run establishment and restaurant manager Daniel always ensures that every customer enjoys a memorable dining experience.
The dining room, though not overly opulent, is nice and smart, with dark wood columns decorated with traditional Chinese images. There is even a fish pond! The waiting staff are friendly and helpful and service is efficient.
All the usual Chinese dishes are available - you know the ones - plus Thai-style curry thrown in for good measure.
As mentioned above, there is also a broad selection of sushi. The restaurant recommends the king prawns, served with wasabi sauce, for "first-timers".
All meals arrive at your table promptly and are of generous proportions.A good selection of wine is available, too.
Perhaps it's the restaurant location, not being in the town centre, but prices are a lot less than you'd expect.
For a family of two adults and two children having meals plus a bottle of wine and a couple of soft drinks, the bill should only come to around 70-80 euros.

To find this restaurant, you have to brave La Orotava's network of one-way streets. Here's how to get there from the TF-5 north motorway.
Leave the motorway at junction 33 and, at the roundabout, take the exit marked La Orotava, TF-211. At the next roundabout, keep following the La Orotava sign and this road takes you into the centre of town.
At the next large roundabout (set of flags on tall poles), go, essentially, straight on. This is now TF-21 and you should watch out for a bar, on your right, called Los Chicos del Valle, with a green awning. Turn right immediately after this. Go left at the next junction, watching out for a building on your left with a lot of arches. Turn right just after this and you'll be on a narrow, cobbled back street (trust me, I know what I'm doing).
Follow this till you come to a "no entry" sign, so you have to turn left. Follow this narrow road until you arrive at a T junction, where you should turn right. This is now more of a major road and, before long, you'll see Asia Chic, on the right. There are parking bays on each side of the road.
