Confiteria Tauro Oratava

For a taste of local life my partner and I recommend the Confiteria Tauro, at the bottom of the Jardin Victoria in La Orotava. The terraced gardens are delightful, and in the cafe you order your coffee, or whatever, and then go down to the counter in the shop to pick a selection of pastries. These are placed on an elegant footed stand for you to carry back to your table, and the choice is overwhelmingly delicious - you may even find yourself going back for more! All around you, especially at weekends, local families are enjoying the same treat, so it really makes you feel as if you are entering into a bit of Canarian tradition.
