Hi Daniella,

I'll try to address each of your questions as best I can. I don't know what the cost of living is like in South Africa, but here in the UK, it's become very high, due to the recession. Tenerife's cost of living is considerably lower.

Accommodation: I would say, on average, getting on for 300 euros a week, for a holiday let. You don't say how long you're planning on being in Tenerife, but long lets could be considerably lower. Our last long let was 520 euros per month.

Food & drink: when we holiday in Tenerife, I generally get through about 560 euros during an eleven day stay. This includes eating out every night. Obviously, if you are on the island for work purposes, you'll probably not be doing that, so your expenditure could be considerably less.

Sim card & wifi: Regarding wifi, you need to refer to my "communications" page, for details on this. A sim card can be obtained from Movistar and comes with some credit already on it.

Airtime on phone: Only you know how long you'll be spending on the phone, but you could refer to Movistar's website for call tariffs.

Petrol: As you may know, the UK's petrol prices are exhorbitant, due to the extortionate amount of tax levied on it by the government. Fortunately, Tenerife petrol is much cheaper and you may be pleasantly surprised how little it costs to get around.

That's the best I can do, I'm afraid. Hopefully, you'll know a little bit more now than you did before.
