Hi Alison,

Sorry to have left this reply till the day you're leaving the island. It does sound from this that you were on holiday there - i.e. not resident.

If you peruse the page on my site about weddings, you'll see, very prominently stated, that a proper Tenerife wedding is only possible for residents.

What visitors have to do is hold a civil ceremony in their home country, then hold a blessing ceremony in Tenerife, which can happen in a church, just like a real wedding.
