Hi Gill,

Sky TV is still an option for you, as you simply find a friend or relative that doesn't have Sky in the UK and get them to pretend to have the Sky account. As I point out on my Television page, this is not strictly legal and breaks copyright laws, but everyone does it.

It's a bit of an expensive process to go through, just for the sake of a few days over Christmas. I've given links on my webpage (Mennyfix, etc) to companies who will set things up for you.

The Spanish freeview company TDT1 have, amongst their channels, the Disney Channel (in Spanish - although I believe there may be a facility to change the language for programmes). For this, you'd simply have to buy one of their boxes.

That's all I can offer, I'm afraid. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

TV Service
by: Anonymous

I recently established a TV service with Bay Connect, they are based in mainland Spain. I have a property in Amarilla Golf. For just over 30 euros a month I have wifi, 13 English language channels plus phone calls in Spain included. It is worth contacting them to see if they have other options. I know they had some that you didn't pay when not in Tenerife. I get a very good reception which is not always the case here. The package includes a children's channel.

Hi Gill,

Thank you to our anonymous contributor. I am well aware of BayConnect and have a link to them on my "Television" page. The reason I didn't mention them in my answer was that it appeared you wanted UK TV for only the duration of your holiday and didn't particularly want to enter into a long term contract with anyone.

They are certainly a viable option and now, they've been independently endorsed by the previous comment.

Click here for my "Television" page, where you can click on the BayConnect link for more information.
