I don't believe (from what I've read) that there are any restrictions as such. However, depending on where you're staying there should be plenty of small supermarket shops that sell pretty much identical stuff to the UK. And the prices are meant to be equal if not more favourable.... We're flying out for the first time on Wednesday and hadn't even considered taking any food with us.

Hi Katie,
H Kelly beat me to it with an answer!
I actually address this subject on my site. You can check it out here.
From my experience, you can cram your suitcase with all manner of foodstuffs - bacon, bread, margarine, cereal, tea bags, etc and there's no problem.
I know the previous answerer says that Tenerife supermarkets will probably stock all essential items, but any British produce is likely to be a lot more expensive, so it's worth taking a few bits and pieces from your home country, to save yourself a bit of money.

Should I take Marie's comment as a complement? Who's Chenn anyway? (No links allowed, by the way.)
