This long established bar certainly knows how to give the best service for customers - of all ages.

Owned by Andy, it is a masterclass in how to run a good business.

The interior is very tastefully appointed and provides an ideal place to relax with a drink, with plush leather sofas and even a raised area, which is a little more private. The spacious, luxurious terrace (hence the name, I suppose) offers a vantage point for the amazing sea views. Large umbrellas and awnings provide welcome shade.

The bar doesn't start up till 5pm through the week, but is open afternoons at weekend (see full details of opening times below). Before the evening entertainment schedule kicks in, there is opportunity to watch all manner of major sporting events on the big screen TV.

A full range of drinks is, of course, available, including a comprehensive selection of cocktails. Periodically, there are special drinks promotions and "happy hours", all designed to ease the strain on your wallet.

La Terraza Restaurant

Quite a recent addition to the facilities offered by this bar is this fine restaurant. Part of the same business, it operates alongside and complements the Terrace Bar, offering excellent cuisine in an elegant setting.

This is not "pub grub" either. Examples of the restaurant's specials include "Fuoco" (fire), which consists of strips of sirloin with black pepper, chillies, chives and white wine (fire indeed!) and spinach, garlic and mushrooms in cream mustard sauce.

There is an extensive selection of starters, mains and desserts.

Several nights a week, there is live entertainment featured in the bar. Generally the later nights in the week (Wednesday onwards), this may vary from week to week, so you are advised to check with the bar to find out.

Acts take the stage at around 9pm and you are guaranteed only top Tenerife cabaret artistes.

But now we come to something for which the Terrace Bar is famous - the Sunday afternoon sessions!

Throughout the afternoon, the bar becomes a venue for various bands to get up on the terrace area and - just play stuff and have a good time. There is even radio DJ Chris Donoghue, from Coast FM, compereing the proceedings.

Kids are amply catered for, too, with a bouncy castle, face painting and balloon modelling.

While all this excitement is going on, there's even more! There is the offer of a Sunday carvery, with a choice of three meats, with all the trimmings, plus a glass of wine or beer - all for 6.95 euros! Yes, you read that right. Kids under 10 eat at half price, too.

Undoubtably, one of the best bars on Amarilla Golf and one that people drive up to regularly from the south coast resorts.

Terrace Bar Amarilla Golf

To find this bar, you need, firstly, to get yourself on the road leading into the Amarilla Golf urbanization.

This is accessed from the road running parallel to the TF-1 motorway at Las Chafiras. Exit the TF-1 at junction 24. From the south, take the right lane of the slip road, which will lead you onto this road. From the north, take the left lane of the slip road, the first exit from the roundabout, which will take you over the motorway, then the first exit at the next roundabout.

On this road, watch out for a large white building on the left, with "room" in big letters. Turn left there. Follow this road as far as it goes, then take a left, then immediately turn right. At the end of this, you'll see a sign for Amarilla Golf, pointing to the right. Follow this arrow and take the next left.

You'll now be on a long, winding road taking you into Amarilla Golf. Stick to this road for a good while and, eventually, you'll come to a roundabout. Take the first exit. You'll eventually come to Fairways Club on your right and "Frostie's Sports Bar" on your left. Take the next left and the Terrace Bar is there, immediately, on the left.
