Temple Bar Tenerife - a top Irish bar

The Temple Bar Tenerife describes itself as a contemporary, upmarket Irish bar and is situated on the main road through the San Eugenio area of Las Americas.

It is quite a young bar and, in the comparatively short time it has been operating, it has established itself as one of the island's best Irish pubs.

The interior has been designed with style, to give it a uniquely Irish flavour that also appeals more to the younger customer. Indeed, this Irish authenticity has already earned it the title of "Official Irish Pub", recommended by Guinness, no less.

The pub is open all day, everyday, from 9am and food service begins with a choice of breakfasts, which is served throughout the daylight hours.

Although the bar is fully air-conditioned and wheelchair-friendly, you can also choose to take your food or drink on the large outside terrace.

Later in the day, the bar offers such snacks as freshly-made sandwiches.

Fans of GAA (gaelic football) will be able to watch all the matches on a giant screen or any of the other TV screens dotted about the place. Other major sporting events are also shown.

As is usually the case with Irish bars, there is live entertainment on offer in the evenings.

Every night, except Fridays, you'll see the excellent resident duo, "Rogue Traders" in action. These talented boys, Liam and Mike, hail from Galway and perform on keyboards and guitar (with authentic Irish extras like the penny whistle thrown in). They play loads of Irish music, plus all sorts of other stuff.

The duo take to the stage at 10pm.

The bar is situated prominently on a corner of Avenida de EspaƱa, the main road running through San Eugenio.

As I said, a bar geared towards younger people, but a great night is guaranteed.
