Spanair Pets Policy - transporting an animal with Spanair

Spanair pets policy requires you to contact the Spanair Centre, then call back two days later to confirm that your pet has been accepted. Only a limited number of animals are allowed on any one flight.

Although UK government regulations mean that Spanair will not take pets into the UK, it appears that there are no problems with their flying pets out of that country. Nevertheless, it is best to check with them first.

Spanair offer a container hire service. For flights to the Canary Islands, these can be booked as much as 69 hours before the flight. Size ranges can accommodate a small breed of dog, such as a cocker spaniel, up to something large, like a German shepherd.

All animals must comply with the travelling conditions outlined on the main "Pets" page. At check-in, you will be required to fill in a form, then pay the required charge. Pets carried in the cargo hold incur an excess baggage charge of 50 euros.

For any animals other than dogs and cats, it is necessary to contact the Spanair cargo office in advance.
