The Sax Bar is found on the left of Patch as you walk towards the ocean.
It is down some steps and you can easily watch all the goings-on from the street, as it's pretty much open-air.
It is slightly mis-named, as there is not a single saxophone in sight! There is live music, however and it has become a bit of a tradition for this music to be of a slightly "heavy metal" nature.
Resident for a long time at this bar was legendary rock guitarist Ian Rockcliffe.
Sadly, Ian died suddenly of a heart attack, last year. He'll be sorely missed.
Live music continues, however and, after a stint of more reserved, "quiet" music, the Sax Bar is once again carrying on the rock music tradition, with the current residency of the band The Nemesis.
Consisting of Pennylane, on keyboards, bass keyboards and vocals, Criss on guitar and vocals and Wim on drums and vocals, the band perform classic rock covers from 10 till 12:30 every night.
The atmosphere of the bar is pretty laid back and informal and great for lovers of live music.
As far as I know, the bar is owned by the one-time drummer from 70s punk band, the Skids and he may get up and do a few songs, too. (Surprisingly enough, he'll do stuff by Sinatra and Nat King Cole!)
The drinks are normal Tenerife prices, you get a free shot every time you order one and there are complementary peanuts on each table, replenished throughout the evening.
