Rumpot Tenerife - offering a superb British night out

It is out-and-out British! Geared totally to British holidaymakers, the interior is purposefully decorated to resemble an authentic British pub - albeit a nice one, with dark mahogany wall panelling and plush green leather seating.

Owned and run by zany Welshman Steve (popularly known as "Taff") and his wife, Karen, since 2010, it caters for tourists with food, drinks and entertainment.

Taff, as well as being the owner, also comperes the entertainment, something he has been doing for some five years before taking the plunge and buying the place.

Food is available throughout the day and the menu is cheap and cheerful - offering a good selection of snacks and "lite" bites, plus a small choice of traditional British favourites, such as various savoury pies, with chips and mushy peas.

In the drinks department, this bar is onto a winner, because it offers, all day up to 8:30pm, a pint of Tropical lager for one euro!

As stated earlier, owner Taff also comperes the evening's entertainment. After starting playing music at the tender age of 12, he was in his first band by the age of 15 and has been going ever since.

He keeps the audience amused initially, one of his features being the "face recognition quiz", taking place at 9:30.

After this, there is the guest cabaret and the bar offers a selection of the best Tenerife acts, every night.

Finally, the evening concludes (perhaps inevitably) with a karaoke session.

For a fun, family-friendly night out, this is the place to be!

The bar is easy to find. It's on the main road Avenida de España, passing through the centre of San Eugenio.
