by: Chris Bates

Why don't you post the con artist's name, address & any relevant information on any Tenerife page you can find; urging people to boycott the robbing b*******s shop?

ALL FAKES
by: SANDY

In Lanzarote, they tried to sell me a small video camera saying it cost over £200 in the UK. It started off about €90 and went down to 20 after he kept looking at the owner and getting the nod. That amount shows whether it was fake or not!

Archie Videosonic Las Americas
by: AS

Having just returned from Tenerife. We unfortunately came under the clutches of this Archie. Purchased a tablet, thinking good value. Apparently had to be up graded to English, thought a bit strange. Went back with tablet on our last day, technician not available, but at other shop still in Las Americas. Taken there by taxi, hard sale again and talked into get virus upgrade etc. Back home tablet not working on internet. Have contacted bank to stop further payment. Don't know if we are going to get money back. Do NOT NOT go to either of these shops, they are silver tongued salesmen, out to rip you off! Brings shame to a lovely resort.

Archie and the Bandits
by: Anonymous

In Tenerife at the start of October with two friends. Got caught by Archie and his bandits as we were ignorant about so called Dell tablets. Conned us out of £130 each. Have great photographs of his little grey car and of his staff. Will post on YouTube. Someone else will be paying Archie a visit shortly and it won't be nice old ladies this time.

I bought a Dellitab, used cash thankfully, but...

It doesn't charge after being left in a draw for a couple of months.

Can't access the memory card when downloading, and the notebook needs this extra memory to function.

As a result of these Indian con-men ripping me off I NO LONGER BUY ANYTHING OFF ANY INDIAN - they create their own predudices the selfish parasitic bastards!

Credit Card Rip Offs
by: Rick

Stay away from these rip off merchants in Los Cristianos along the marina leading to the hotel Iberostar. Just beyond this hotel is a restaurant called Waikiki Beach Club is an Indian merchant called David who ripped me off 3.500 euros without my consent for Android tablets and antivirus by scamming my credit card details. As of yet no reply to my emails in getting my money back. Will now go down the long route and get the spanish police and fraud squad to pay this merchant a visit. Hope to god that they close him down for good with his buddies there so beware folks there are no honest shops in Tenerife. You have been warned.

Stark World Los Cristianos Tobacconist
by: Anonymous

Tobacconist called STARKWORLD on the front, sea front Los Cristianos run by Nicholas and Sam - that's what they said they were called, real smooth guys. Do not buy a tablet from them. They have a way of conning you into more than you really need by offering you things free, but from our experience nothing is free and they get you to go to the shop last day of your holiday and baffle you with their patter, but all the time they are scamming you. They need locking up. BEWARE do not enter this shop and do not get into any discussions with them and do not use your card.

Stark World tobacconist on sea front Los Cristianos. This shop is a big set up to con innocent people. Avoid at all costs. Tobacco cheap but do not get suckered in with their tablets and smooth patter talk, just scam. Merseyside avoid do not use your card for any electrical goods and only use cash for your tobacco. They won't bother you if you do not have a card because they can't scam you.

Stark World Los Cristianos
by: Anonymous

Never enter this tobacconist. If you do, never use a credit card and never tell them the day you are returning home from your holiday. They are very clever and will rip you off. Never get a tablet from them. They are criminals, they should be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of vulnerable people on holiday who are too trusting. Devils in disguise, beware. Nice to your face and all the time scamming you.

Beware And Avoid at ALL Costs
by: Anonymous

I stayed in Tenerife recently for four weeks have been coming to Los Christianos and Playa Los Americas regularly for holidays before and after the pandemic when we were able to travel again.

My holiday on this occasion was totally ruined by three sales men who operate from O M Electronics shop in Parque Santiagos Iii area. The owner is not the person who is responsible for the con artists who operate in the store however I do believe he is complicit in as much as he allows (rents) an area at the rear of this store for the fraudulent dealings/sales of electronic items which get upgraded from first point of sale usually ‘nickels and dimes’ to upgrades of equipment to the very expensive android tablets which I NEVER wanted.

The reason we were sucked in initially was we wanted to buy an adaptor for an electric razor and we were schmoozed and given this adaptor free - then a very pushy salesman named xxxx (not his real name) stepped in and provided a piece of equipment we could use as we were not able to access our internet to watch tv from our apartment nor use the iPad we had I. Our possession . Their equipment (supposedly) enabled us to watch tv from just about anywhere in the world. The technician who operates from Santa Cruz supposedly upgrades this equipment for use legally in Uk with a QR code which entitled we the buyers to take through customs (utter rubbish) then pay thousands of euros by credit card cash for viewing for 60 months plus VAT (nonsense of course!) at a rate of nineteen pounds per month and are escorted to ATM to provide cash to them upfront (they offered to deduct the fee also usually seven euros) - so magnanimous!!!!!!

My partner is disabled and vulnerable they prey on older people in the knowledge that we older folk are not ‘techy’ enough to understand the software rubbish they peddle to us at a cost of thousands of euros. . I intend to pursue this case in the hope that these greedy men get stopped from this kind of treatment to others! I am a firm believer in Karma thank you for reading this article.

Never ever use these so called shops. If you really have to, use your credit card as you have some protection from the card company.
