Rafting Bike Tenerife - a cycle tour with a difference!Rafting Bike Tenerife offers a cycle tour with a difference: it does away with all that inconvenient stuff, like...pedalling!  This is because a van transports the bikes and riders up to the starting point in the foothills of Mount Teide, then the route is downhill all the way, back to base, at Los Cristianos.  The tour lasts between four and four and a half hours and covers about 22 miles, always on proper roads. Age is almost irrelevant (although there is a lower age limit of eight). The oldest rider to date was 85! Even though most of the tour is downhill and the riders are freewheeling, the pace is leisurely, enforced by the leading guide - and brakes have to be constantly applied! There are frequent stops for sightseeing and the tour also includes a stop for a picnic of traditional Canarian delicacies. The company equips all its riders with a good quality bike, a safety helmet and a high-visibility jacket, for maximum safety. The tours take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, though extra days could be arranged for groups of eight or more.
