I'd like to learn basic Spanish that I can use in Tenerife (I know most of the locals speak some English but it's nice to make an effort) but I've heard that the Spanish spoken in Tenerife is not quite the same as "mainland" Spanish.

Is this true? And if so can you point me to a website with basic "Tenerife Spanish" phrases I can learn?

Please, as I booked tickets on Ryanair and they have not an e-mail, my flight on 01/05/2012 from Tenerife Sth to Valencia and the time of flight is 17:00-21:05 is it possible to take 5 hours from Tenerife to Valencia?
From Barcelona to Tenerife it takes less time 21:40-23:59.

I am an elderly lady (75) but very fit and healthy and wish to rent a 1 bedroomed apartment near beach and shops for 3 months from 1st November 2012 to 31st January 2013. The area I am looking for is Las Americas. I realise I am being premeture in seeking this accommodation, but the reason for that is, I would like to fly out from Dublin in October to view what is on offer and book there and then. Can anyone advise please?

Boat Moorings in Tenerife

We'd like to find out more about mooring legalities in Tenerife, but I've been unable to find much information on this. I've been on sites for mooring sales & rentals but there's nothing other than the actual moorings available. What we'd like to know is, is there an annual charge for a mooring if you have bought the mooring as opposed to renting it? If we rent it, do we have separate electricity/water charges, or is this covered in the rental?
