• 5th. The word is "fifth". It has an "f" in the middle of it. It is not "fith". It is not "Revenge of the Fith". I had a rant about "sikth" a while back, but at least that has quite a difficult juxtaposition of consonants for less able linguists to manage. What's the problem with "fifth", for heaven's sake.
  
  Please, TV announcers, presenters and news readers - pronounce "fifth" correctly!

• What's with this innovation that seems to be on all new cars these days - the side-lights consisting of a little string of fairy lights? It makes these vehicles look like a Christmas tree. Whose idea was it in the first place and why have all the car manufacturers taken it on board?
  
  What were they thinking?
