Mongolian Restaurant Los Cristianos - a memorable dining experience

Now here's a restaurant with a difference! Only open since November, 2010, this is a formidable addition to the culinary choice of south Tenerife. If you're not familiar with Mongolian cuisine, don't be put off. With this country's position in the world map, there are influences of Chinese and Thai cooking - plus a bit of Russian!

Occupying a huge corner locale in Los Cristianos, this stylish eating place offers a huge, spacious interior, decorated with plush, dark wood, ideal for an ambient dining experience. If that wasn't enough, there is a large terrace for al fresco dining.

As you pass the restaurant, you may encounter members of staff outside, trying to entice you in. Listen to them! Their advice is worth taking.

On entering, you will be escorted to your table by friendly, attentive staff, who will continue to look after you and offer advice throughout your stay.

The Buffet

The star attraction of this restaurant is the all-you-can-eat buffet. But it's no ordinary one.

After a choice of two soups (chicken and sweetcorn or hot and sour), you are faced with a selection of raw ingredients, which you can put together as you wish.

Meats on offer are chicken, pork, beef, lamb and venison. A selection of seafood includes king prawn, calamares, squid, mussels and sole.

There is a comprehensive choice of fresh vegetables, such as mushrooms, onion, tomatoes, broccoli, cabbage, peppers, courgettes and carrots. You then complete your selection with either rice, noodles or beansprouts.

Next, you take your selection over to the cooking station, where a chef will cook your meal before your eyes. Talk about fresh! At this point, you can specify which sauce you want with your dish and have about 17 different ones to choose from. If you're a little uncertain, staff will be happy to advise you.

You may return to the buffet as many times as you wish.

How much do you reckon all this costs? A mere 13 euros! And it includes a glass of beer or house wine! Now that's value!

The Mongolian Restaurant also has an a la carte menu, plus an authentic sushi bar.
