Las Lajas Campsite - quite high up the mountain

As campsites go, it's not all that brilliant when it comes to facilities.

Covering a mere 5,000 square metres, it can only accommodate 30 tents.

Although there is fresh running water and parking space, you're not treated to such luxuries as toilets or shower blocks.

There is the inevitable "recreation area", open, as usual, up to 7pm in winter and up to 9pm in summer.

The Office Manager is based at the Casa Forestal de Vilaflor, on Carreteria General Las Cañadas and he can be contacted by phone on 922 709005.

Finding this campsite is, for once, quite straightforward. You need, firstly, to get yourself to the village of Vilaflor, already at quite a high altitude. From there, take the TF-21 road, which carries on climbing the mountain.

Eventually, off to the left, you'll see a sign saying "Servicios Zona Recreativa Las Lajas" and the campsite is down that road.
