If using the buses, you need to catch the 110 express to Santa Cruz from Los Cristianos bus station, next to the Apolo Centre, near the traffic lights. Once in Santa Cruz, catch the 103 to La Orotava. The whole journey takes about 2 hours 23 minutes.

Get the 343 from LC to Puerto. Then get the 101 or 350 from Puerto to La Oratava.

I originally got my info off the TITSA website, using their journey planner, so, when I saw the anonymous comment asserting that the 103 didn't go to La Orotava, I took another look at it. Turns out, after taking the 110 to Santa Cruz, you can then take the 108 to La Orotava. I can only assume I misread it. Sorry. Thanks to Anon for pointing this out.
