Irish Rose Tenerife - a very popular bar

For once, despite the name, the various things on offer to the customer - food, entertainment - are not noticably tinged with Irishness.

What is guaranteed, however, is that you will always have a good time.

Being on the first floor of the commercial centre, where real estate is at a premium, the bar is, of necessity, quite compact and is usually very busy - a testament to its popularity.

It opens early each day, offering breakfasts from 10am through till 1pm. Options include the full English, an extra large "Irish Rose" special and a vegetarian.

Thereafter, snacks are available, plus ubiquitous basic meals - burgers, spaghetti bolognese, lasagne, chilli con carne and curry.

On Sundays, the bar also offers a traditional roast dinner, which usually proves so popular that you are strongly advised to book in advance for it.

Evenings bring out the entertainment. Things kick off at around 8:30, with the excellent resident compere, Michael Richards.

The first part of the evening features fun and games for all the family. From "Play Your Cards Right", to quizzes, to karaoke, there's something for everyone.

Later in the evening there is the guest cabaret, always consisting of top Tenerife entertainers. One notable artiste who has been appearing at the venue for a good few years and, as far as I know, is still gracing its stage, is Andy Maughan, with his brilliant Chubby Brown tribute.

This bar is busy for a reason. You are always assured of a warm welcome, the food is good and served with a smile and the entertainment is first-rate. You can't go wrong!
