Hacienda Miranda Tenerife - a charming outpost of Mexico

Its top floor position allows for an extremely spacious and airy building, decorated in typically Mexican style.

Established in 2004, this restaurant has become a favourite of tourists and locals alike. Such is the size of the interior, it is divided up into two separate sections and one of these can be booked for private parties.

As if that wasn't enough, there are also two large ouside terraces.

From the entrance, where you'll see large wagon wheels, to the interior, the place is liberally adorned with Mexican memorabilia, such as sombreros, rifles and pistols, Aztec imagery and yet more wagon wheels!

While perusing the menu, you'll be presented with a complimentary portion of nachos with a salsa dip.

The menu itself contains all the ubiquitous Mexican favourites, such as tacos, burritos and fajitas. Of course, there is much more than that, with soups, salads and barbacued meats. For those of you who like spicy food, the menu lets you know how hot each dish is. Children's meals are also available.

The restaurant prides itself on the attention to detail given to every order and uses only the best possible ingredients.

For drinks, of course, there is the famous Margarita on offer, plus tequila and sangria, but also a comprehensive selection of quality wines.

These range from the house wine to top-of-the-range selections from some of Spain's finest vineyards.

On completion of your meal, as a thank you for your custom, the restaurant presents you with a complimentary Margarita.

All restaurant staff are polite, courteous and attentive and the very reasonable cost of your meal should set you back anything between 15 and 35 euros.

The Safari Centre is found on Avenida de Las Americas, just opposite the Mare Nostrum Resort (the place that's styled after a Greek temple).
