Fred Olsen Express - a well established Canary Island ferry service
The Fred Olsen shipping company was founded in 1848 and is based in Oslo, Norway. It was quite small scale, until the son of the founder took over and turned it into a huge multinational business.
It was in 1904, when the then president of the company established an agricultural centre on the Canary Island of La Gomera. It was through this that the company's connection with the Canary Islands was born.
Routes were established and a Spanish arm of the company was formed. Today, the company's express ferries connect most of the islands of the Canarian archipelago.
