Cueva Caprichosa Tenerife - a restaurant in a cave!

Situated about a 10 minute drive out of the centre of Santa Cruz is this unique eatery.

Its name translates as "Wayward Cave" and, indeed, it is a restaurant set up in an honest-to-goodness cave!

It truly is a weird experience, with the rough hewn walls and ceilings of this natural volcanic cavern contrasting starkly with the pristine table settings.

With hanging lanterns, candles and spotlights on the rock formations, you are guaranteed a remarkable dining experience.

Restaurant Manager Amaro Nayra presides over a group of very efficient, friendly waiting staff and they will help you enjoy an intimate, evocative meal.

As well as dinner for two, the restaurant is an excellent venue for group bookings and offers its services for such things as wedding receptions, stag and hen parties, birthday parties, etc.

With a capacity for 160 people, this is no problem!

Since its inauguration, it has become popular with professional business people - justifiably so.

La Cueva Caprichosa is a Spanish restaurant that specialises in meat. The uniqueness of the place continues with the method of cooking. All meats are cooked over a spit!

As always, there is a fine selection of wine available to accompany your excellent meal.

To find the restaurant, you need to be on the TF-1 motorway. From either direction, take exit 6A (TF-2). From this motorway, take exit 3 (TF-28) and, at the roundabout, take the first exit (signed for Santa Cruz and Aeropuerto Sur). This road takes you over the motorway you've just left and you should take the next turning left (there's a big store on the corner called Muebles Roble). Take the second turning to the right. Take the third left off this and, at the end of this road, you'll see the restaurant (with a sign) directly in front of you.
