The Corner Bar - daytime restaurant and evening cabaret

The Corner Bar is right at the end of the Parque La Paz strip of bars nearer the sea. It's situated on the corner - hence the name!

It is a British-run establishment and combines the two functions of being a bar/restaurant by day and a cabaret venue by night.

The interior of the bar is quite nicely done out, with comfortable seating. The venue opens early, serving English-style breakfasts. Its restaurant persona continues throughout the day, with quality British food on offer.

By night, the bar becomes a cabaret spot and acts perform on the large, outdoor terrace.

This starts at around 9pm and features a variety of top Tenerife entertainers. The accent appears to be on tribute acts, including Elvis, Roy Chubby Brown and, on one occasion when I walked past, Billy Connolly.

Some small niggles from customers include the fact that, during the evening entertainment, members of the public are constantly walking through the terrace area, as it links one passageway to another. The seating has been commented on, too, as the terrace features plastic chairs which, I suspect, after a time can be a little uncomfortable.

Any negative issues are far outweighed by the positives, however. The daytime food has had glowing reports and the bar is a very pleasant place to enjoy a relaxing drink in the afternoon. The cabaret is always excellent, too.
