Charly Bar - providing entertainment seven nights a week

Charly Bar, variously known as Charley's Bar or even Charlie's Bar, is a long established bar/restaurant in Los Cristianos.

Invariably, they will have a live music duo in residence, who perform seven nights a week, from 8pm till midnight.

This was a place I worked for a while, whilst part of a duo with a guitarist/vocalist. I can tell you, you certainly earn your money, as you never have a night off!

The last time Alison and I visited Tenerife, staying, as always, in her apartment, which is just round the corner from the bar, I saw that the duo "David and Elaine" was once again performing there.

Over the years, this duo has regularly returned to this venue and are extremely popular with holidaymakers.

For those of you looking at this section for information on the Tenerife club scene, you've landed on the wrong page, because David and Elaine generally perform middle-of-the-road music, at a volume not too loud for conversation.

You may call in for a meal or a drink and enjoy some easy listening music. Prices are not too bad - and the music is free!

This bar/restaurant is open all day, too, and, for early risers, a full English breakfast is available, plus a full menu of meals and snacks.

Please accept my apologies if you visit this bar and David and Elaine are no longer there. Acts in Tenerife are constantly moving from one venue to another. If you find someone else providing the music, please let me know, via the feedback page.

To find this venue, aim for the Hotel Arona Gran. As you get to the bottom of the hill, you'll see it on your left, on the corner by the roundabout.
