The Brewers Droop, a bar that bills itself as "world famous", is found on the left hand side, as you walk down the Patch towards the ocean. It's not facing the road, though. It's round the back and you have to cut through a sort of tunnel to get to it.
These days, the bar is managed by Graham Gold and his wife Cheryl, an entertainer who performs under the name Crystal.
Now Graham has been entertaining on Tenerife since the year dot. As you can imagine, I knew him during my time on the island. For someone to enjoy such longevity, he must be doing something right.
As well as bar manager, Graham is also the host and compere each evening. He's a guitarist and singer, so, presumably, will entertain you with a few songs and banter.
When I've seen him in the past, he has this ingenious set-up consisting of an electric organ pedal board at his feet, with which he controls all aspects of his performance and backing. There is also the uncanny use of a "vocoder", which automatically adds harmonies to his vocal. What a full sound that makes!
Graham also runs a quiz and karaoke every night. The bar features guest cabaret artists, too.
I'm not even going to attempt to tell you who the guest cabaret is, as it can change frequently.
The early part of the evening is family friendly and the bar continues through until the early hours.
Bar prices aren't too bad, either!
