Bombay Blue Indian Restaurant Tenerife - quality Indian cuisine

bombay blue indian restaurant tenerife

The Bombay Blue is an upmarket Indian restaurant situated in an upmarket Commercial Centre in a nice area of Las Americas.

The Safari Centre is found on Avenida de Las Americas, just opposite the Mare Nostrum Resort (the place that's styled after a Greek temple).

The commercial centre contains, as well as designer shops, a number of quality restaurants. Bombay Blue is found on the top floor of this building and its enviable location allows for a large, spacious terrace, covered with awnings. The interior of the restaurant is equally spacious, with stylish decor and traditional Indian overtones.

On entering the restaurant, you'll be courteously greeted and shown to a table, passing a room housing the extensive wine selection.

As you are given menus to peruse, you'll be presented with a basket of poppadums, with dips of mint yoghurt, mango chutney and spicy onion. Be aware that these are not complimentary - they'll be on your bill. That said, they're not that expensive.

You'll discover that the menu is vast, with all manner of traditional starters and main courses.

All curries come with a rich, delicious sauce and contain generous portions of top-quality meat.

Perhaps unusually for an Indian restaurant, Bombay Blue also offers a huge selection of desserts.

For families, there is a children's menu available, too.

All dishes are devised and prepared under the jurisdiction of head chef Abbas Safdar. The kitchen features two tandoori ovens that are of the traditional charcoal-fired variety. By avoiding the more convenient gas-fired option, the true, authentic taste of India is recreated.

All waiting staff are polite, attentive and helpful - as well as being multilingual, to accommodate all nationalities.

For such a prestigious dining venue, you'd expect prices to be quite steep, but the restaurant's Facebook page estimates a meal to cost between 10 and 30 euros.
