Banana Garden Las Americas - fine dining and top entertainment
Banana Garden Las Americas is an establishment of long standing in Tenerife, having fed and entertained customers to a high standard for over 25 years.
Primarily a Mexican-themed restaurant, it also provides, each night, excellent and varied live entertainment.
Found just opposite the beach, at the foot of the huge Palm Beach Club building, it is accessed through a charmingly rustic archway. From there, you descend some stone steps to a sort of courtyard, lined with greenery such as vines and ivy, illuminated by glittery lights.
Going into the restaurant itself is like entering a cave, but one that is surprisingly spacious, having a seating capacity of over 150. It is decorated throughout with a Mexican theme.

Doors are open from 5:30pm till 2:30am. Food is available from opening time through till midnight. The menu is international, with the accent on Mexican. Specialities include roast leg of lamb, Chateaubriand steak, medallions of fillet steak and a selection of fresh fish. There is also a children's menu.
There is also a comprehensive selection of exotic cocktails on the drinks menu, of which the restaurant is famous.
The beauty of all this is the prices are still reasonable!
The restaurant also features a performance area for live entertainment and uses it to its fullest potential, with a variety of weekly events.

Notable nights include the "flamenco show", when a traditional dance troupe will amaze you with the intricate footwork required in the traditional dance form. This takes place every Wednesday and Sunday.
Every Tuesday, the restaurant becomes traditional Canarian, with the visit of a Canarian folk group, performing their own brand of music and interacting with the diners.
Other nights feature more regular acts, such as keyboard players and guitarists, performing music for dancing.
Entertainment tends to start up at around 9:30pm.
Useful Tips
The restaurant is usually very busy, so it is best to reserve a table in advance.
Car parking is available in the Palm Beach Club car park, just round the corner, between 8pm and 4am. You pay your parking fee there, then take the receipt round to the restaurant and they will refund your money!
